    Salt & Light

It only works when you are in physical contact with the dirt.

We need a certain amount of it if it is going to operate , but above all , we need a quality of salt & quality of light that is totally different from the society that God has placed us.

We are to be out amongst the highways & byways of life , amongst the downtrodden & sinners, forever holding the righteous standard of Jesus Christ.

So if we are the Salt & Light , we are made to stand in those dark places , neither turning to the right or left but keeping our eyes on Jesus, enhancing the environment, shedding light on its situation.

“Light is a guardian against spoilage.”

“Salt is a preservative & an enhancer of flavour”

Salt is a preservative, hence if you are the Salt , you are preserving the Gospel = Good News of Jesus Christ.

Notice if salt loses its savour it is cast out, trodden underfoot – one might say this is falling away.

A special note also : The Dead Sea salt is full of impurities it is neither good for a seasoning or preservative, one might say it has lost its taste.

Christians are not meant for internal “clicks” or “navel gazing”

We are not made to berate , cast down or talk down , but all things are done in Love – as Christ walked.

    Salt is:

    Preservative

    Anti Bacterial (inhibits growth of)

    Enhances flavour

    De-Icing Agent

    Pure substance

    Light is:

    Healing (phototherapy)

    Antibacterial (UV)

    De-Icing Agent (infrared)

Preservative (UV , infrared, blue light)

    Form of Energy

Jesus said in the Mount of Olives Discourse (Beattitudes)

“You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under people’s feet.

“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.

Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house.

In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.
